Oh ok...while it sucks, 1.2 mil is understandable. Hey man, at least it's paid for! If the truck is still solid and pre emission, you could spend less than half of a new truck to rebuild yours and have a reliable truck without the smog stuff!

Even with today's poor market conditions you should be able to make the numbers work. The only thing keeping me out of a new truck is i enjoy this semi retired half a year off schedule. A new truck would mean i could only take 3 months off instead of 6.

It's paid for but not not really pre emission. Still egr. but your right. Cooling down for a few days will calm me down. Love the truck have never been towed. At some point have to go with a new truck. Gliders are out of the question don't even want to bring that subject up. Going to keep it I guess even if I have to spend 30000 over the next three years. idk. I'm all over the place.

That's my problem . I like working 4 days a week. So the numbers don't work. Which in turn makes me a whiner. So tired of wrenching on my truck or paying others to do so sometimes a new truck looks like a oasis in the desert. Going to keep her awhile longer. Just needed to cry a little.

Why is a glider out of the question? Its basically a new truck with no emissions.

I'd say what i would respond to them but those kind of words aren't allowed here.

I know some of you guys are really content with the pumpkin, but these kind of things make me very happy my truck is somewhere else. Telling a guy his truck can't be past a certain age, or that they don't want a new glider is just freaking ridiculous.

Yup, they want their whole fleet, company and owner ops, to be 100% EPA2010 compliant. Heard something about a tax credit, but not sure

Back when carb kicked in to gear the new rules you could apply for a small tax credit if you upgraded your equipment. The only one it really benefited was big carriers. Just like the grant money to buy apus. The average Joe had to jump through big hoops to get 300 bucks. Walmart got, what was it? 5 million?i forget the exact number but an article at the time gave the number and compared it to their fleet size, it ended up covering the cost to equip something like 80 percent of their fleet with brand new tripacs.
