Needless to say I never ever saw any of those loads on the load board ever.

However yes Schneider better not be expanding the program now, we don't need anymore drivers. Freight is slim now so what use to go to us is now going on company trucks.
Company drivers get layover pay, we don't.

If I wanted to I can apply for IC choice in Chicago market, it's listed on Schneider jobs. Of course they just may be replacing failing lease operators and not increasing overall numbers.

I have done this often when the loads up north are hot and i don't want to get out of the system. Just fly home for a weekend. And the beauty of this is that return flight is already scheduled so i can't talk myself into staying a couple extra days.

Edit to add: is the south east really that bad for you guys? I can't imagine a company refusing to hire an oo based on where he lives. For a company driver sure, but owner ops? Like has been previously stated, flying home for offduty time is cheap. And even bouncing out is no big deal. Savannah has a lot of decent freight and is only 350 miles from tampa. What's that? 40 gallons of fuel? If a guy can't afford to eat 40 gallons when it's time to go back to work then there is much bigger problems than living in a bad market like florida.

I see it the same way. As long as I get 2+ into Fla I can make it work with today's fuel prices. It only costs me 80 bucks to deadhead up to Macon or Savannah. It seems everyone complains about low fuel prices and surcharge but this is where you can really make it work for you. Deadheading to better freight doesn't cost what it did 2 years ago.

I have seen this as well a few times. One was with pallet loads & just the other day at Frito lay. The particular Frito lay load pays $2.40 a mile. It's on the board some but it's a regular run.

I don't understand why you keep trashing me.
There's thousands of Schneider ICs posted here.. you would happen to be the first one ever that has gotten approved for the Solo side.
Endless drivers from Florida have been denied.
Two of which I spoke to personally.
In orientation Schneider told us they don't hire out of Florida because freight is sooo bad and suggested we don't go down there unless we get a lot of money going in.
Not only that but another IC just said they don't hire out of Florida.
We just aren't pulling this out of our arse, Schneider told us this and other drivers as well.
Maybe have a little more respect for the current drivers here if you hope to learn a thing or two.. that is unless you think we're just making everything up.
You being hired out of Florida would be a first and comes to a surprise to us because we never heard someone being hired fron Florida before, only denied due to location.

In orientation they said no hires under i10 and the other I-10 "rule" which nobody followed.

@T_TRUCKER. was from Florida, he can tell u they wouldn't let him on until he eventually moved.

What difference does any of this make anymore?
If seems Schneider is back to bring on any and everybody at this point and it's hurting everybody but Schneider in the process.
