@workingklasshero , based on your post about how awesome Volvo's are, you need to immediately drive to Kohl's or Wal-Mart and buy a couple pairs of track pants and lots of black socks.

Seriously, there are some down sides to Volvo. Plan on keeping that truck till it dies, there is no resale value at all. Parts are expensive, I know, I drive a Mack. I was looking at buying a 730, but after talking to my repair shop I decided against it. They maintain a small fleet of 30 Volvo's and when the idrive needs replacing it's a huge bill.
The D13 is a good motor and other then some sensor issues, Volvo seems to have gotten the def system down pretty well.

    That's my $.02

I already have lots of black socks. I'm wearing sweats and flip flops now, but this is only my indoor lounging outfit, before beddy bye. I get my jeans in Cheyenne at the Western Store, just down from the giant cowboy boot sculpture (Everyone should stay at the Plains Hotel there once too). My roper boots (I'm tall enough) are in front of the passenger seat. No hat though, I'm basically an east coast kinda guy.

I didn't say that Volvo's were awesome. I thought I went out of my way to say it was a great choice for me. I did want to point out some of the features, just for those who are reading later, to compare.

I'll just focus on your last sentence while I climb the ladder up into the "loft". That's my belief too, and aesthetically I find them to be a tough lookin', albeit modern truck. Wait till I get my blacked out LED headlights.

I'm just wingin' it John, like the rest of us... :)

Onguard is the easiest to eliminate. Turn it off in the ECM.

Yes, but will SFI allow you to have it turned off? Otherwise, you are stuck with it until you pay off the truck.

If I'm leasing one of their trucks I certainly wouldn't want to get caught disabling that.

From what I understand, it can only be done by the dealer, just saying I'm sure SFI wouldn't approve it.

Anybody with ECM access could do it. You could probably get one of those diesel doctors to do it, but way too risky.
