I'm disappointed in you. I thought surely after a night of drinking moonshine you would bring yourself around with a strong cup of joe.

I just posted my setup in my own thread. Felt funny listing all the stuff in FreightWippers.

Moonshine begets moonshine, best thing for a good morning after a hard night is 1 shot of Moonshine.

I've been looking at doing a conversion on my truck from ARI. Keep the cab the same size but move a few things around, add a shower and toilet in here. ARI quoted me $23k to add a 35" shower with toilet and corner sink, a 1 burner cook top, fridge, vynil harwood looking floors, cabinets along the back wall where the top bunk is now, microwave/convection oven combo, hot water heater, and a 37 or bigger water tank. For all of that work ARI would need 5-10 days.

I started looking around at other options, like doing it myself and so far I can get all the major components and wood to build the cabinets for less than $3,000. All I would need is just the down time to do the work. I really want to gut the inside of my cascadia and utilize the space in here much better.

I even thought about getting one of the 108" custom sleepers they sell, but the empty weight on those with no fuel or water is 21,680lbs. By the time you add 200 gals of fuel and 50 gals of water, the tractor would be pushing 23,000lbs or more. That's just to heavy for me at the moment.

Just makes me wonder if it's worth it. Most days I plan on buying this truck, some days I want to drive off a cliff and order something with everythign in it already.

    Brother,
You want this...don't even try to do it yourself. Why ..simple you get into a wreck and there stuff will hold together. I really think it's a great idea and 23k doesn't sound out of line. The weight you can always drop the water out And let's face it you never have to have your fuel full.

It's been almost two years since I left the local Freightliner dealer and began driving but if I remember correctly they were talking about putting the HVAC box in the center so a common cab could be used for left-hand or right-hand drive and the big one I remember was the cab was being lowered 4" and moved forward 6"....to the point that the only way to remove the valve cover was unbolting the cab and jacking it up. This was on the prototypes at the time per our corporate trainer....let's hope they changed that. Of course all of these changes are due to the government fuel mileage requirements.

I'm not worried about it coming apart in a crash if I do it myself. I over engineer stuff all the time. You should have seen what I did to when I was driving one of prime's lightweight trucks to secure the fridge and microwave so if something happened I wasn't wearing them. Stuff flying at me in a crash or sudden deceleration is a very big concern. I still might use ARI, not sure yet. I'll spend some time drawing up plans over the next couple days to see what makes sense.

In the mean time I found this as a quick option to add a shower to the truck.

And I could do something like this lady did in here video for a shower setup.

Yes I spend way to much time researching things, like this guy that made a camper from a sprinter van.
