I know you said you didn't want to tell about your whole operation so if you don't want to answer me I totally respect that.

With that said I am as confused as I can be. What I am reading is that you, as the IC, have hired a driver to team with. A driver you pay out of the settlement Schneider sends you. Am I wrong on this?

Must be getting ready for another shuttle launch. Wish they would focus on getting some loads confirmed.

When my wife and I teamed Schneider only paid me, I had to pay my wife and our accountant told us I had to be the employer and her the employee because a 1099 team driver in the owners truck is a red flag. Of course we decided she made more than I did every week some how.

You can't, just as all of the other companies operating this way can't either.

Years ago I would agree with you 100%.

There are countless American owned small fleets operating this way. Believe me they have bigger fish to fry than a one truck operation. Even if they did come after him, it would just be a penalty and maybe some interest. Nothing to big that a tax professional could easily wiggle you out of.

In my opinion, in this case the reward is definitely worth the risk.

Just as I see a COUNTLESS number of pre emission trucks running in California. Many of them based in Cali lol.

Like the IRS it's a law that's rarely enforced. It's just a fine if you get caught, so many o/o's just kept the same truck.

The instrument cluster module...they put in a bad one when they made the truck...my Fuel gauge would never go above 7/8 ever...and would drop 1/4 tank after 70mi...I've got 30k mi on the truck..
