Husband has been in a couple of places where the coffee has been let run dry, mentioned it at the one place and just got an "oh" out of the person. In some places the coffee seemed to be watered down also so I wonder if they are reusing the grounds.
Pilot/Flying J now require 9 coffee purchases to get 1 free .

Thats would be COWBOY style coffee , use the grounds for more than 1 brewing.

I haven't been OTR now for 9 months. I remember speaking with a DM for TA and being told they cut their grounds by 20% for each pot brewed. A way to keep costs down.
I had commented that I could read the bottom of the cup thru the coffee, it was so thin.
I always liked Pilot coffee best, but Sapp Bros had pretty good coffee.
The problem relates back to another post: Inflation!
Rather than inflate the price of coffee to cover their increased costs, they're cutting quality.
I remember the days of inflation back under Ford/Carter. We're right back at 1972 all over again...at the brink of run away prices.
Two years from now, we'll all look back and cherish the memories of $5 fuel, $2 coffee and $230 oil changes.
Fuel will be over $8, coffee over $5 and 0.40 per mile will be poverty wages. -
Carry an empty instant coffee envelope and if they ask for you to pay, show them the empty pack and say you just got hot water.

I'm buying an inverter and making my own.

whether it be a 7/11 , WaWa , TA or pilot
look at all the area devoted to it
at the local 7/11 one whole aisle is devoted to coffee
$7-8 profit per pot easy
biggest bang for the buck -

Never drank a cup and never will so I guess I have one less thing to worry about now.
