Mild temps???? Vegas is baking right now......:biggrin_2552:

SO-CAl can be baking or freezing in the Fall or winter depending on the Santa Ana Winds.....
As for myself....I'd like to get an APU or the best situation, get a Condo Cab from ARI....

But if you got your Condo Cab...you would lose 2 or 3k in load...does it break even?

    Depends on the loads....
Some loads I take are paid by weight like hay, boulders....but there are plenty of full loads that aren't 50K for the load.....
The load I have now are fiberglass insulation panels that are only 15K and that's considered a full load...
The 97" and 108" Legacies weigh about a ton.....And that would be enough room for my wife and I when she starts going with me...
I have seen some other companies that can customize a studio cab (86") with a cassette toilet, shower, and a sink....and still stay within the limits....

My biggest problem is that I run quite few loads to and from small towns, where the only place to park a rig is a wide spot off to the side of the road....
Not that I'm complaining...But it would be nice to reset in one of those legacy sleepers with an awning, lounge chair, a bar-b-que and beer or two.:yes2557:

Maybe Obama can give me some cash as in "bail-out" to buy one of those rigs.....Maybe after that, I might have something good to say about the man.....:biggrin_2554:

The Pilot in Madera,Ca and Hesperia,Ca. at least had Idleaire there ( haven't been there in a while,so I don't know now). While the idea behind Idleaire is a good one, its how they and T/S's have it setup that bites.

The APU's will drive IdleAire completely out of business eventually. I have no reason to use it anymore, though, I didn't use it that much anyway.

Dysarts in Bangor Maine is the best. Good food good service and they pump the fuel fo you.

The thread is about Pilot and IdleAire. Last time I was in Dysart's it was not a Pilot, and did not have IdleAire.

    Has that changed?

I tried not to fuel at Dysarts as it was a CITGO, but I had to at least get out of the northeast, so 100 gallons it was.

Also, I'm not sure an email campaign will help as the article is five years old, as stated earlier in the thread.

As far as IdleAire goes, I use it month to month for internet, but don't park there as it's just too expensive, and I'd rather stick a urinal from the mens room in my window. If you think some $9 an hour parolee is going to really see through on his "duty" to clean each terminal, then you're simply wrong. I've never committed a felony, and even if they paid me $20 an hour, I still wouldn't leave my warm little trailer at 3 am just to clean a terminal some unwashed fat guy has just been watching porn on for 8 hours.

I remember back in 96 and 97 when Park n View was supposed to be the greatest thing ever. Now it's just bumps in a few parking lots.

This will be more of the same. Only worse, because it actually screwed up a lot more truck stops.
