Haven't tried it but their website says the "starter kit" is $249.00. That seems a bit outrageous. It also has the 5gb limit if you go with their monthly "unlimited" plan.

    wyldhogg Thanks this.

Zero, how much do you think the cell phone companies charge for an aircard? $249 is about as cheap as you will get one without a contract and that's the point of Slingshot is that it is pay as you go.
I too would like a hear from anyone that has used it. I have had so many issues with my verizon card I'm about to run it over a few times

that 249 includes 2 months of service, so thats only 130 for the card, BUT look at the coverage map, thats what turned me off to it. I was interested till I seen that.

I hadn't even seen a map but that's what I had assumed would be the problem.

also with a cellular provider you are getting the modem cheap or free for a service contract. they make up the price difference over the two year contract. With this you pay full price and although it's nice to not have a contact you are paying the same price monthly as you would with a contract. it's kinda like paying for the modem twice

Sprint 3G USB aircard, $50. Unlimited plan $59.95 a month. It works everywhere except parts of WY and NE. But there are truck stops if I really need to get online.

I have a verizon card now but I need another for my wife since I took this one. she now has no internet access at home. They won't combine air card plans it would be two seperate plans and that's expensive.
I just bought a blackberry storm that I can use as a modem for a little more then half of what another aircard would have cost me. hope it works out okay
