Ok so I work for a mom n pop company the owners are really good people that take care of us. Now im working on a project where we can only get in 4 loads a day so I say get it done and go home I start at 7 and I can get done by about 2. Well this senior driver takes forever he doesnt get done till like 430. My work ethic says when its time to work its time to work not mess around but by the same token I dont want to piss off or make thes vets look bad you know. Am I doing something wrong here?

If it was me, I would only worry about me. Get it done and gone (especially if it is the same pay either way), now it would be a different story if the other driver needed a little assistance, but if not keep on moving on.

It's not a race... everyone works at the pace they are comfortable with.

Just do your job and move on.

I worked for two companies where the more senior drivers cornered me and made veiled threats about me working too fast and hard. They were senior to me, but not older. For example, such and such a load, I should take 6 hours exactly, not the 2 hours I was doing the loads. I simply smiled and said "OK" and continued working as I wanted. The other drivers aren't my boss and don't sign my paycheck. I'll slow down if the terminal manager tells me to and not because some nitwit truck driver tells me to.

Live and let live. You do your job and the other driver does his or her job. If anybody needs to "correct" or say anything, it would be either the owners or supervisors in charge.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
