Are there any Pitt-Ohio drivers running night time line haul that could give me info. on the job? I am considering switching over and just wanted to talk with someone who is already doing it!

Are you asking about the nightshift linehaul thing itself, or how it is to do it for Pitt? I don't work for them, but I know a little about how they operate from back when I was doing the nightshift. I used to talk to them on the CB a lot.

I do know that Pitt Ohio has some stupid rules. They have established run times and forced routing, as does Fed Ex freight, and a few others. If you encounter a traffic delay due to a wreck or something and you need to take a detour, you need to contact Central Dispatch. They then contact the State Police wherever you are to verify your story. If it checks out, they give you something called a "detour code", to give to your destination terminal when they interrogate you about your late arrival.
If you can tolerate the aforementioned crapola, then by all means give them a call. But I, for one, find such restrictions intrusive and intolerable, and could not be paid enough to work under those conditions.
One thing you may wish to bear in mind. I imagine you are familiar with the poster Tip. One thing he always stresses is that a company who advertises constantly has problems keeping help. Pitt has an automated system where they list all their current openings. This may raise red flags for some people. -
I don't have any concerns about Pitt-Ohio, they are a well respected company in my area and have earned that respect. I have no problems with any rules and regulations, they are a part of life. I have the option of obeying them or moving on, as I am not the type to complain about something like that. I will, however ask if that is the case when I speak with the terminal manager the next time. Most of the time these rules that seem silly are put into effect because of 1 or 2 drivers doing something stupid that ruins things for everyone. Maybe a couple of guys were going out of route, for example, and stopping at a topless bar or even at a restaurant and started to get friendly with the wait staff then a quick cup of coffee turns into an hour and a half gossip session and the next thing you know we have a new regulation. The only concern I have is money. The terminal manager told me that at the bottom you don't make as much as the guys at the top, which makes sense, but I want to get an idea what the bottom guys are making and how long it takes to get up to rate!

I wish Pitt Ohio were hiring! Another thread said he was making 77k on his linehaul, but I assume he was high on the seniority list....I'd be happy with 77k, or 50k...Plus benefits...
