For that price you need to go to CAT and buy a new one. No one makes a manifold to replace the B model. So PP is selling you a CAT manifold.
The only way you can install a E model on a B model engine is if you have the cylinder head with the small round exhaust ports.SHC Thanks this. -
i lucked up and got a c model engine when they replaced my b model a few years back. i wasn't lucky enough though, cause 11 out of 12 studs broke while removing the head. if i decide to replace the head is there anything i can do to increase performance on the c model. i also need to know who has the better performing manifold.

Is the pp manifold made by full-tilt?
From the pics I have seen on the the net the ends have the same logo. -
Bully Dog, Full Tilt and Pittsburgh Power sell the same manifold. The owner of Full Tilt is actually who brought the group together to be able to create enough sales volume to justify the development and casting mold costs.

Sorry, but I have to disagree because below is the PDI exhaust manifold for a 3406E Cat that I noticed at MATS thi year is different than Pittsburgh Power's manifold.

Below is the PP manifold next to my stock one that I replaced this year. There is a difference and like somebody said earlier the PP one flows alot better that you can see why when you look at both them.

You can see an obvious difference in the PP and PDI manifolds.

The turbo and exhaust manifold from PP with the turbo blanket I recommend will get you around 1/2 to 6/10ths better mpgs and is well worth it. -
You have the new version of the PP manifold which is manufactured by Bully Dog and Full Tilt Performance in a joint venture. PP buys this manifold and resell it as their own product. Before Jan 2010 Full Tilt Performance bought ALL their manifolds from PDI and machined the PDI logo off and sold them to Bully Dog and PP after porting and ceramic coating them. If you were at MATS this year the gentleman running the flow bench showing the difference between the stock CAT manifold and the supposed PP manifold was none other than Terry Hummel...........the owner of Full Filt Performance.
You need to understand something about all these manifolds. The plenum area of the manifold is where the flow differences come into play. The individual exhaust ports at the cylinder head don't mean squat, when you have to get all the exhaust flow from the engine through the plenum ports and into the turbocharger. Those two turbo ports and the turn from the manifold into those two ports is the restricting portion of the manifold........the one that does it best in this area of the manifold is the winner...........looks can be deceivingSL3406 Thanks this. -
I don't understand why this makes any difference because companies sub out manufacturing work all the time (including PDI) and market the product under their name. I don't really care and it does not make a difference one way or the other because PP has always took care of any problems I have ever had with any thing they ever sold me.
I am still very satisfied with Pittsburgh Power Products on my truck and don't care where they were made because PP has always stode behind it with me. -
From your profile you haven't been around long enough in trucking to understand my thoughts on this matter.........you also haven't tried to play with these engines much over the last 13 years to really understand my dislikes with the different methods of playing with them as I have.........If you're happy, I'm happy
