I was asking this sort of rhetorically, hoping to be positively surprised. To claim that fuel is burnt more efficiently due to some catalytic agents in the product would require an explanation as to what those agents are and how they are involved in fuel burning process to make the claim credible. Even if someone says that it works wonders for them

You should try essential oils. Karen swears that she gets 100MPG loaded, uphill.

No , I don't have soot problems. That's why I use the snake oil . Get it clean and keep it clean. It may end up being a waste of money in the end. For now ,I think it helps so I'll keep using it.

IIRC the main parts of PBMM are magnisium and iron (i could be mistaken here) which act as a catalyst to help break down the fuel better which can lead to a cleaner burn. In older style less efficent engines this stuff can work wonders. I remimber an old artical where antique boilers and generators responded very well to catalysts and saw massive gains.
However, modern trucks are super efficent compared to what was avalible in the past. As such as a truck gets more efficent there is less to bond to and less positive gains. In something like an old coal roller like a 3406B series or a big cam cummins you would likely see quite noticible gains. In something like a MX13 far less so. Otherwise the EPA would be chomping at the bit to get this stuff mandatory as a standard fuel mix.
Also keep in mind its not the soot that clogs up your EGR and such. Its the ash, so while you may produce less SOOT i.e less black smears on your trailer. And keep in mind this next part is only what i have read elsewhere and may be wrong. You may actully produce as much or more ash depending on the formula used or how your engine runs. Though in some cases you can produce less.
So again id just pay to have the system cleaned a couple times a year. Not that expensive and you can schedule it for down time as well as have a full health check done on the system to head off problems.Short Fuse EOD and TallJoe Thank this. -
I had the same results.
