Well guess what, I ended up calling PP to talk to parts and let them talk me into buying one of their "quiet performance" mufflers. I already have the same thing on my old truck so I was comfortable with it. I told him about my research: concerns with flow and noise, and about the Donaldson number. He said their mufflers are absolutely not Donaldson but he did have them as well if I wanted one. It is still a straight thruish design and they claim performs just as well. It came next day since I live in PA. It is straight through but with a break in the center tube in the middle and the perforated tubes are offset some in the middle where the gap is. There is no packing. It is stamped "United Muffler". Part number on the box: CUS-023-11

I got those mufflers. On one truck I put Walker and on another Donaldson. See no difference whatsoever from the stock ones
-
Did you use any standard testing methods to measure the difference or did your simply slap them on and go grab the next load?Bean Jr. Thanks this. -

I need an overpriced product to sell to people who want to waste their money. A friend of mine was just telling Me about these great socks he found, very comfortable, the best socks he’s ever found. Price $25.00 a pair. Its his money, I think I would have shopped around a little.

The PP Muffler helps, but it rusts out in 2 - 3 years.
