I used to load at Gorton's of Gloucester back in the early '90s. That place was a lot easier than 3/4 of the places I went pulling a reefer before I got smart and realized hauling groceries, or any kind of consumer goods, was not the way to make money in the trucking business.

I’ve been to the pilot off 285 but never the Kroger. I’ve also heard bad things about a piggly wiggly in Bessemer! Maybe one day but hopefully not haha.

The Piggly Wiggly is not bad at all unless you get a dock door at the north end of the building. You have a fence that comes inward towards the docks that may make it a pain if you have to back into one of those.

All the other docks are pretty much straight line back. You also have the watch the impatient fools that can t wait to let you back to your dock assignments.

Lastly, before Piggly Wiggly went in-house with their lumpers, they had guys that would walk out in front of you while coming down the ramp trying to you to hire them as a lumper. Yeah, wearing all black at night walking out in front of you, real smart. Surprised one of those guys never got ran over
