    Don't forget an accident kit

-Cheap flashlight with extra batteries in addition to the good quality flashlight you should be using for pre-trip inspections etc
    -Large Ziplock bags
-Pencil & pen (pens should be the more expensive gel types that write on everything even when they are cold in the winter)
    -Tape measure and ruler/straight edge
    -Note Pad
-Disposable camera or cheap digital camera

You can never have too much info from an accident scene.

Then make you sure check and maintain this kit every 6 months to test and replace batteries or expired disposable cameras. The last thing you want is for your flashlight to go dead or find out all the pictures you took of the scene didn't turn out and now without evidence the cards are stacked against you.

Some carriers may give you a few cans of spray paint and very wide masking tape to add to your kit. Chances are they will not tell you what it's for but you'll find out if you have a really bad accident and call them. They'll tell you what to do with them when that time comes.

    Baack and mason1014 Thank this.

Now THAT sounds a bit scary. Hopefully there isn't a cyanide capsule in that kit as well. :biggrin_2554:

To cover up the name on the side of the truck in case a news crew shows up basically.

Umm.... sleeping in the truck is free. Paying for a motel is not.

The OP was asking about potential costs.

I guess putting a particular word in quotation marks was lost on you.

My response was geared towards the statement, "Depends if you're staying in a hotel".
