Read the question twice, then answer BEFORE you look at your choices. Then see if your answer matches one of the choices. If not, read the question again. Look at the key words in the sentence, make sure you understand what they are asking. Take your time. It's easier to do this on paper tests but you can usually put your hand in front of the answers on the screen so you don't see them. When you are studying test questions on the websites and DMV books, think about why one answer is correct and the others are wrong. There are usually two answers that seem to work. Think about why one works and the other doesn't. Once you understand how they are trying to trick you into choosing the other answer, you will understand the questions better. (My wife is a teacher and she taught me test taking skills. I hope some of the above makes sense.)
I guess I will do the same to. I will study the practice tests on here and also study other practice tests and the manual and go take the exam again on Friday. Thanks for the advice I will try and do the same
Some questions I see looks really confusing, if the DMV would let me do it on paper test it would be easier for me. What I will do is practice more on Cristcdl.com and TruckerCountry.com and the do the practice tests on this forum and study the manual. After I'am done and feel im prepared this might be by Thursday or Friday I will go take it again and take my time on it. Thanks for all the advices
If you are not good at tests and live in central Florida, you might want to reconsider Millington and do CDL at Flagler community college instead. I believe Swift, among others, hires graduates from Flagler.
The other tests I think I will be able to do, but no matter what school I would go to, I still have to take the General Knowledge test to get a permit and thats the only one keeping me behind. The others are easy to me
If you can pass air brakes and Haz-Mat, the general should be easy. Some of the questions they will throw in one word that will make the answer seem simple, but that one word wil make it wrong. Like another said, skip if you are not sure. Every time that I have to renew my haz-mat, I hate it, and I fly thru all of the easy one that I know, and this usually gets me a passing score.
How many times do you have to renew hazmat? And is hazmat the only endorsement you have to renew or theres others to?
Im sure the next time I go to take the exam I will pass it. I studied the manual, also went to go practice online on cristcdl.com truckercountry .com and truckingtruth.com and the practice tests on this forum. I think thats enough studying and I think all those I will make me pass the test. I will have a quick overview again on all tonight and tomorrow and try to go on Friday to pass
