Thanks for the OSHA10. Mine is about to expire.

OSHA 10 is required by most companies. Cost is $89.95 for General Industry Training. I took OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety and Awareness Training (Field Supervisor Version). It cost $189.95. If you have any previous construction experience, do not bother with the 30-hour course. It's redundant and not worth the extra time and money.
In regards to H2S training, I look the full course at a cost of $59.95. You can get the basic certification for $19.95, and the basic is all you really need. I took both classes online. -
All of this training is dependent upon how badly they need you. We hauled sand for Chevron. Safety said no one allowed on site that hasn't been to their 2 day class. Only about 10 of probably 30 drivers had. Frac was on. Higher up told safety to -iss off and everyone hauled for 5 days round the clock. Same with another company out of Austin that runs lot of work around Three Rivers. H2S is good. OSHA anything is just stepping stone to safety job. Never had any OSHA and was never asked for it. If they want it let them provide it. Weatherford and TriCan both had us come to training in their yards. Got paid and good lunch as well.
hardworkinman and TLeaHeart Thank this. -
Osha training has nothing to do with safety, but how to cover the company assets when an accident happens.
Shell requires land safe training, but waives the requirement when there is product to move...hardworkinman Thanks this. -

I paid $200 for SafeLand, SafeGulf and H2S.
Now I finally got hired and need to sit through the class again next week. Oh well. At least I get my money back this time! (Getting paid to sit in the class) -
Drivers complain how safety training takes away from their off time. I paid attention. Saved 11 people so far. Am I Hero? Nope, just a Trucker that knew what to do. Picture in the paper, nope, got to deliver the load. Don't need thanks. I did it, all that counts. I'm a Trucker. P.S. God is watchin'
