I know the middle one, my 5th wheel slide is locked down so the middle one does not matter. I believe the two outside buttons control locking and unlocking the kingpin from the 5th wheel, but frankly, I am not sure. Please explain how to use the buttons if you can. Thanks!

left one locks and unlocks the jaws on fifth wheel right one looks like it locks the rear diffs in and out to me
Oranje5150, 48Packard, chopper103in and 1 other person Thank this. -
What'll they think of next.Anything to make the life of a trucker easier.
-
I second this! The Diffs on the Right the Jaws on the 5th on the Left! Good Luck.
-
They make a switch for the jaws in the dash now? I don't think I like that
-
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the dash controlled jaw release have a safety feature so that the truck must be stopped and in neutral, or things to that effect?
Naturally, it would be rather easy to accidentally hit the button in motion, so something must be in the system to prevent accidental releases in motion.
If not, that would be insane. -
Excellent question. I have never seen this before.
-
my prostar had those and yes the trailer brake must be engaged for that button to do anything but beep at you
KW Cajun and cetanediesel Thank this. -
The left one is for 5th wheel jaw release. Just like pulling the kingpin release. On our freightliners at work that has these the red and yellow brake knobs have to be out.
