I see a lot of good info mixed in with some bickering and nitpicking.

Drivers are in here acting like the RV crowd and the 4 wheel crowd aren't the same thing. Most of them dont have a CDL and only drive a small amount of miles per year compared to us. It's not an excuse for lack of common sense but why are the expectations so high? In one month we cover more ground than they do all year, think about that.

I've never had an issue with an RV driver, some of yall sound mad at the world. If there weren't an RV or car in the spot there would be another truck there instead. Plan ya trip accordingly because the truck stops and rest areas are full at night, it's no secret.

Never seen your videos, and really a lot of rv'ing people scare the crap out of me because they drive worst than anything else on the road.

Honestly, there are not truck stops, they are travel centers made just for RV'ing crowd, attracting the people to their "food" and amenities which they sell at outragious prices and they ... happen to sell fuel for trucks.

So in other words, I don't care where they park. I am one who sees the RV parking full up, will park where the truck park, the drivers' don't like it, too bad, I paid my dues.

There is no etiquette any more, every person for them selves. You have trucks passing people on the left on a four lane road and you have rv'ers who are not accelerating coming on the freeway.

The best thing to say is use the lanes wisely. if you are sitting in the left center lane of a four lane road, and under the speed limit, get over to the right, if there is someone going slower than you are in the right lane, pass them but don't hold up traffic.

OK being pro-trucker doesn't mean much, too many drivers in trucks drive like crap, thinking it is a car.

    Good luck with your vlog.

i have been driving for 40 years now, when i retire, there won't be much driving, nor high dollars spent dong such in buying or renting or leasing any such RV..

been just about everywhere, seen just about every place, everything..

i've had it as far as the traveling bug..i can relax just fine in the recliner, in front of the tv, or at the computer screen. and from there, i can read all about the Rv's, taking up valuable truckers parking spaces.

    I clean forgot about that.

I had a bolt of memory of a tiny pickup with a honking big bay fisher on a trailer too small for it across Conowingo Dam on US1. Then the first big ridge followed by three more (all three have good runs downgrade to gain momentum for the each grade up.) the problem was when you try to run out, big boat starts wagging the dog. Ive got 8 Kitty Cats behind me whipping me on the radio until they see big boat. Oh. Cats start talking about getting around both of us. I told em hold on boys let's wait 3 miles or so.

There is a downgrade about that location that is fantastic, even my little 300 cummins on a fat 10 (Now you understand why I cannot stand 10's... wind it out only to downshift on a puff of wind to repeat the wind it out exercise...) I had it at 110 took that bay boat gone and a RV in front too.

    They raised hell then.

Ok. 15 miles plus a narrow dam and me and Kittys (In those days 425 or 450 CAT motors were king) were talking about the big honking boat wagging dog and working on how to get through and make back what we lost. And they say nothing.

When we did make our move well... guess what. Eh.. nothing personal. But it was not a good situation. We got through it and nobody got hurt.

Many cars and trucks have auto light control. I'm used to them flashing me, and I appreciate it. Many big trucks do the same, even at night. It's much better to interrupt headlights (for me at least). Some companies feel it's unsafe to turn out lights. Others forbid drivers from helping, because they think it can be construed as directing traffic. If you are going to pass a truck, pull out and get it done, even if you have to speed up. I don't like you beside me. I trust another trucker, but not an amateur. You have a bathroom and kitchen. I don't. Find another place to park besides a truckstop. If you have to go there, stay out front.

Please, please, please stop doing this. The very LAST thing i want is to get a shot of your high beams when I'm looking in my mirror prior to starting a lane change. If you feel the need to do anything just dip your headlights at most. Better yet, back off the cruise 1-2 mph for a moment to let us get past you a little quicker.

Just like in Europe, I flash lights as a request to go on or get over. If that does not work, it's a horn blast and brights. Wake up and drive.

    #1 piece of advice...

    Please Don’t hit my truck.

It’s not my truck (or trailer), it’s somebody else’s stuff in the trailer, and the only thing I own in that contraption is my time, and that goes flying out the window with my paycheck if I get held up.

Plus give us ice cream and hot dogs.

    Thanks.

I unplugged the relay for those stupid headlights that stay on all the time.

I don't see a problem in the least of RV's using the parking at a truck stop. I hear a lot of they are taking up the last spot. Do you really think it would be open waiting for you if they were not in it? If it's that wrong wake their ### up and tell them to move. We all know its first come first serve.

As far as on the road advice, don't worry about what I'm doing worry about you getting up the hill and back down safely. I have lower gears if I need them. If i need around you I will go around you. If I'm held up no big deal its gonna happen some where some time regardless. Don't let others rush you that's when mistakes happen.

Check your headlight adjustment with your trailer on. Odds are they are going to be high and pointed right in my mirrors. Getting blinded from behind sucks.

In general just be considerate as any driver should be. All the signals we use to use are about dead and gone anyway and half the jack ##### in a truck these days wouldn't have a clue about them anyway.
