He didn't open the crypt, the poster above him did. And his post had nothing to do with straight line backing, but rather with learning methods.
And since most of your more recent posts demonstrate the same problem of overthinking the most simple of concepts, maybe you should spend a few minutes pondering what he said. He wasn't attacking you, he was trying to help you understand why you have such difficulty grasping ideas presented by others.
Frankly, I thought his post was very insightful. -
Well I can tell you a couple of things right off the get-go. Firstly, you cannot learn how to drive a truck by following written instructions. A surgeon can read a book on how to perform brain surgery, but that doesn't mean he can do it. He learns by performing it over and over again. Practical knowledge. Secondly, six hours behind the wheel is NOTHING. That is a problem. To give you an idea, the school I went to was 320 hours to complete. Included in the course was 1000 miles of urban and highway driving. Yes, each of the 12 students had to do 1000 miles. You were only allowed to miss ONE class during the 9-week course. You had to dress appropriately and had to wear a belt. It was the best $2000 I have ever spent in my life.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is you need to spend time behind the wheel. Once you do, everything will become intuitive. Some of these "schools" that are training drivers are a joke. Nothing but a money-grab.
Edit:
LOL. I just noticed this thread is over 10 years old. It got me hook, line and sinker. I hope he learned how to back up the truck!InTooDeep, Hammer166 and PaulMinternational Thank this. -

Post was found after hitting new posts, never read it before, don’t care if it’s a week or 20 years old and as always I didn’t look at the dates of all the postings as that doesn’t give me any entertainment.
Be aware that if someone opens an other of your old posts and brings it to the new post status, I again will read it from the beginning, most likely won’t look at post dates and will probably comment if I’m in the mood to do so. If it bothers you might I suggest knowing you posted it and feel you might have gotten past that point in your life that maybe just maybe you should skip reading the new replies. -
After reading the last few posts, I would suggest starting a new post if your still looking for help. This one seems to have been corrupted and Your question might get overlooked in the crossfire!

Turn towards trouble. If your trailer starts to drift in your left or right mirror, turn the steering wheel towards that mirror it is drifting to correct.
shatteredsquare Thanks this. -
driver mirror tells you where you're going, passenger mirror tells you where you are.
one inch of steering wheel deflection is enough to start drift, one inch the other way is enough to correct it, you can one hand it just moving your elbow. if the trailer is walking, only the driver mirror will tell you true, passenger mirror is only good for destination targeting or reference when you get closeConcorde Thanks this.
