Hello all,
Just looking for a little help getting started. I've been in the Air Force for 13 years and am getting out next May. I'm stationed in Anchorage, AK and am looking for a school to attend prior to getting out so the Air Force can pay for it. I will be moving to San Antonio, TX and am looking to hopefully get hired on with a decent company. I am a newbie to all this civilian stuff and would like any help/advice you can give me.
Thanks in advance,
Cumminsdude

I don't have a choice, they are going to Medical board me out because of Asthma and Sleep Apnea. The bad part is neither one stop me from doing my job. Also, My wife has 22 years on active duty right now and she is ready to retire. We will move back to San Antonio, TX and I will hopefully pick up a trucking job there. I don't need the bennie's because we will have them through the AF. I will be concidered 80% disabled from the VA because of my medical condition. I've always dreamed of driving a Truck. I drive my little 2500 cummins with a 40' 5th wheel all over and love being on the road. Hopefully I can get a trucking job. If not, then I will find something else. Just hoping someone on here can help me in the search. I respect the hell out of truck drivers because y'all know what it's like to be away from your family for an extended period of time. I've been in 13 years and have spent over 5 years away from my family. Driving a truck and being gone 3-4 weeks at a time is good for my wife and I. -
Landshark: Yes, I'm at Elmendorf. It's a beautiful area to live. I'm from AZ and I've been all over the desert, but this is my first time being in an area where there are trees and green everywhere. It's nice to be stationed here, but I can't handle the negative temps.

Asthma and sleep apnea may also keep you out of trucking.

Nice of them to do that 2 you with just 7 years until you could have retired. -
Two of my buddies i run with have to use a C-PAP machine for their sleep apnea and they still can drive. Not sure about asthma. Dont know much about it. -
