You can get that stuff through your state DOT. Do a search for 'Illinois IRP registration'. You should be able to find everything on the website for your state, including the forms you need, fees, etc. They even have the daily trip forms, and other forms needed for IRP and IFTA filing for my state.
How long have you been driving? your stats show you as a WannaBe. If you have no experience, you will have a very difficult time getting insurance. If you have spent some time in the seat already, you may want to change your 'Trucker?' status.kanseou Thanks this. -
IL is one of the expensive states.
CO is another one.kanseou Thanks this. -

If I remember right when I was leased to a CO based carrier my base plate was some thing like $3000 to $3200 for only about 15 states.
WY would not be that much for ALL 48.
Whats AZ like? -
Is that what the company was charging or the state? The reason I ask is cuase some of these companys try and make extra on the plates. I thought Co. was about 2k? Az is about 2800 - 3000 for all 48 IIRC. I ran just a Az. base plate for many years when I hardly left the state and that was $3000 just for Az.
kanseou Thanks this. -
Who knows what the company was charging me.
I was blown A LOT of smoke.
In WY if you don't leave the state you can get a county issued commercial plate.
MUCH cheaper than the apportioned issued by the state.
You can leave the state with the purchase of one time trip permits. -
Yeah once the economy went in the toilet I found my self having to buy to many trip permits so had to get a apportioned plate. #### housing market B.S. took my gravy train with it
Sounds like Wy might be the place to be.

I ran across the gross pay from them here just the other day.
$132,change for less than 7 months. By the time all the payments, fuel, and insurances
ect were taken out I was averaging $900 a week to me. For my wages and all truck needs (outside of fuel).
No wonder I went broke.
Oh yeah and that was the summer fuel was about $5.
