I just recently obtained a copy of my DAC report and Stevens transport has me as having a preventable incedent, the thing is, I WASNT DRIVING!! My trainer backed into a dock, set his brakes, then released to straighten out, menwhile an employee of the warehouse had alreay jumped into the back of our trailer, this lead to an argument between the warehouse manager and my trainer, WHY AM I BEING PENALIZED, And is this legal? ALso I drove for an owner operator who paid me 10-99 (cash) and this doesnt show on my DAC, I have no way to contact him for answers. Since I only did training with stevens and left as soon as I was done (which took them a ridiculous 5-months to give me my solo shot...Thats why i left) Does this meen I have to start over from 0? like Im a rookie driver with no expierience? If there is anyone out ther who can help me figure this out PLEASE HELP, My career is riding on this and i feel like Im getting shafted. Since I left stevens without taking my solo truck, they still consider me a Student! I have almost 2yrs over the road, with close to 230k logged miles. I consider myself a great driver, an expert at backing and they are treating me like a greenhorn!! HELP!!
Please Help Me My career depends on it!

Call Lester Coggins Trucking, they'll take you.
AngryStevensDriver Thanks this. -
Thanks for the advice! But I live in North FL, Do you think that would be an issue for LST?
-
First off, welcome to the forum. There are plenty of people willing to help. I am KH, a greeter.
Secondly, go to USIS and appeal your dac report. Also, being in N. Florida is not an issue for LCT as their main terminal is in Oklahumptka. Finally, you can do better than LCT in my opinion. Look locally and find out which companies are in FL. You might try to get on with moving van company, local fuel delivery, the options are endless.
KHfaded206 and simplyred1962 Thank this. -
Do you think my expierience will be a problem? I have found out how to contact the owner operator that i drove for for 1 1/2yrs after the stevens dispute, but he basically paid me under the table and did not report to DAC, So my DAC says ive only had 1 employer and it was from 10-07 until 2-08 as a "student", I talked to the owner of Marty's Trucking and he said he would verify employment, but do you think will this hold up when I apply for other company's?
-
Not all companies use DAC.
If he will vouch for you, you are good to go..........AngryStevensDriver Thanks this. -
DAC is not the end all, be all of getting a job. So long as that O/O will verify your 18 months of employment, you'll be fine.
I'd rather work for a company that doesn't use DAC anyway. -
Does anyone have any suggestions for a good company that may hire me out of north FL w/ the DAC situation listed above and 18mos OTR expierience that can only be verified by the O/O that I worked for?
-
Like KH said, contact USIS and appeal that report. At least you might be able to get your statement in. That would be my first step. I would also get a statement from that O/O about your experience. Didn't you keep your log books? Do you have any proof that you drove. Your main issues here is the incident and your experience. You get those cleaned up and there will be alot more doors opon up for you. Then I would download a list of trucking companies there in North FL and go out and see them. If you get into the first interview you can explain your situation. .

Don't sweat it if a company you drove for doesn't show up on DAC! DAC is a pithole of bad information from vindictive companies as they are PAID to report anything to DAC!
That 1099 is all you need as proof you drove and got paid for driving and when you fill out your next application just put the guys name and contact phone number on the app. Or see if he's needing a driver again.
But none of you should worry if a company didn't put you on that sorry arsed DAC/HireRight list! It's worse than a -500 credit report
