I have a 2012 Freightliner Cascadia Eaton automatic transmission. I was stuck in traffic and won’t want to accelerate. Won’t go in gear, doesn’t show codes and is not light flashing. I’m in Chicago I-290 E under a bridge and my trailer is loaded. Please some suggestions????
PLEASE HELP - My automatic transmission truck wont go into gear

So I read the thread but must have missed what the issue was.......I guess I was stunned that the OP didn’t know how to disconnect the negative battery wire
With all of the electronics and sensors in trucks and cars nowadays, one of the first things you should whenever there is an issue is disconnected the negative battery wire to allow the system to reset. -
A mechanic arrived and apparently the clutch is gone... They will fix it tomorrow.

Truckers if you brake down in Chicago, IL area I Highly Recommend HRC Brother’s Towing in case you need to be towed, fair price, honest and professional. If you need to be towed to a repair shop, I highly recommend David & Daughter Truck and Trailer Repair Shop. They are also very professional show you and explain to you the situation of the truck and very fair price. They are an excellent team!!
This week has been rough because I break down first in Harlowton, MT and just for haul the truck and trailer to a shop was $2,362.00 and for fix the turbo the shop I-State Truck Center a freightliner Shop in Billings, MT charged $8,915. To change the turbo and you still hearing a whistle and I need to clean or buy a DPF filter that will cost between $1,500 to $3,500 more. In case you brake down close to Billings avoid that shop. This past week has been difficult. Blessing for all of you!!!QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this. -

Shaft and Crank Shaft. If your truck is automatic is kind of expensive but if your truck is manual should be cheaper to change. Mine cost around 3,000. With 10 hrs of labor. -
Dave here with JB Hunt road services. I have found this error several times in my calls, and it is typically solved with us by having a 4 minute master power reset and then cycling gear selection at 1.5 second intervals from N to D to Lo to D to N to R to N and it seems to clear up the issue, which is typically caused by a driver rolling that spindle shifter too fast. I have solved this issue several times myself over the phone with drivers. hope this helps.
