Well, I wanted to AVOID the MEGAS at all costs so I took some advice from Chinatown and ended up at Abilene Motor Company.

    So glad I did too.

    Good Company,
    Great Equipment,
    Awesome Freight,

If you want to talk about Abilene, feel free to contact me here via PM and I can try to answer any and all of your questions.

I think it's a great place to be and I was fresh out of CDL School too. Should take a look.

BUT, even if Abilene isn't the company for you I would STRONGLY ADVISE you to seriously take a look into any and all companies that Chinatown tosses your way.

I am SO GLAD I was able to avoid all the issues and drama that comes with any of the Megas.

    Stay Safe wherever you land,
    MD

Thanks! Are the companies you've listed in any particular order? Which do you think are the best as far as pay/home time? Or just the best in general? I don't know much about any of them. I'll look into them more, but I heard hauling fuel can pay good so off the bat mission petroleum sounds appealing to me.

All the hazmat/tanker companies are good. Western Dairy is milk hauling and probably won't make as much as hazmat.
I'd put Abilene at the top for the others.

The best home time will be with Mission or Coastal.

Is it true at Abilene you can be held responsible for repair costs if you're in an accident whether it's your fault or not?

They didn't cover that in Orientation... LOL

way too many variables in something like that to even speculate... some jerk does something stupid and ya, I can see any company pulling that card... lol

But again, just a driver here.

Something like that would not only be covered in orientation, it would be in a contract. You just can't start pulling funds out of an employees paycheck. Be sure to read everything that requires a signature. And take a black magic marker with you.
