Well, if you're for sure that this is the only thing you were fired for (and is disclosed in any employment history request from England) and that's the worst thing that may be on a DAC, then I can see no reason why nobody would hire you just based on that. But if you're on paper logs why couldn't you produce the carbon copies of those days that you're supposed to retain?

Here is the importance of making sure your trainer is training you properly and you are doing what you are suppose to do. Not filling out logs or turning logs in is a major, major "no no"!

Not sure what you can do about it now. I would try to get hired on before they report on your DAC. In about 2-3 months check your DAC to see what is going on it with it.

These are the downfalls of driving for a mega-carrier. Worst case, you can get a lawyer and figure this out with England's safety dept. Logs are public record and England cannot keep them top secret!

How did you loose a electronic log? or if you were on phase 2 on paper logs dont blame your trainer...
They are not his logs, they are yours, but even if you/he lost the orignal, you should have the carbon copy..

2 missing logs would probaly only put you on a level 1 violation, 2 missing logs & you should not of got you fired...

That's great, but it may not be clean in the next few months when England is done reporting to them! They tend to tarnish your DAC especially when they fire you for log violations.

this was back just before england switched to e-logs and at that time i was instructed to give my logs to my trainer and he would send them in , as for the 2 carbon copies.. they were missing from my book. also i realize that it's not all englands fault and that i should have covered my butt, but how could you expect a student brand new to trucking to know all the things he can do to cover his butt? also, back when they were doing paper logs, england had a policy with it's students, that if you were having Log issues out on the road that you were to be sent in for re-training, and obviously that never happened to me..

Well, I can say that I have inadvertently torn out BOTH copies of a day (or two) but it was instantly noticed and the carbon copies were re-inserted. But if that's the case, then you made a second mistake by then misplacing the original and copies. I feel for you but this still seems like a relatively minor mistake that could be expected of a new driver and I still have to question England's decision to fire you because of 2 missing logs. Are these missing days consecutive? If not, that may be working against you, too as that may add more violation points than 2 consecutive days.
