sorry if this dont belong here, but we'll chalk it up to me being new.
my question is this.....If you schedule an orientation for one company but then dont show, does that go on your record?

The problem I'm in is I am a recent graduate from CDL Trucking College and have been "pre"hired and asked to come to orientation from about 4 companies. Im still weighing my options as the weekend approaches and need to make a decision.

But if you schedule an orientation and dont show up, will that haunt u? yes or no! thanks for the help!

from what i've heard, yes it will haunt you. make a decision and stick with it. get started somewhere and stay there at least 6 months.

NO it will not make any differents. Untill you get hired you don't have a record. Now that company isn't going to be to happy with you but oh well:biggrin_25511:
Deside which one you want to go with and tell the others you have desided to go with some one else. You are under no oblegation (sp) to explain or show up for orentation. they have no-shows all the time.

If you schedule an orientation you are in essence making a commitment to a company. If you don't show up, some companies will put that on your DAC employment record. When I was doing recruiting and hiring for our company, I saw these entries from several companies.

Best make a decision, bite the bullet and go. If you're not going to show I would call them. Just think of this as any other job interview...treat it the same. A no show, no call and I'm pretty sure you're not going to get another chance. :biggrin_25511:

You have made no commitment. There is no contract. The first thing every company says at orentation is "You have not been hired yet. you are not an employee. We have no commitment to you." So why would you think you have ANY commitment to them? Your not one of there empolees. I would dare a company to put anything on my DAC because I changed my mind and didn't show up. I'd take them to the mat on that and then sue the pants off them. :biggrin_25516:

You are absolutely right. I've worked for a company that had no problem sending half the "pre-hires" home at their own expense because they didn't qualify for one reason or another. They fly you in and if and when they decide you aren't up to snuff, they'll call a cab for you to take you and your gear to the nearest Greyhound terminal.
