1099 might hire you, but they have to check with their insurance first and they might not accept you. Its still worth the try

That's me; Carolina Cargo, yes I often recommend the company. They give drivers a second chance and get them off the unemployment line. Doubtful Western Express will hire, but can try.
    Carolina Cargo
    Florida Beauty Express
    TransAm
    USA Truck

Sometimes it helps to check with companies in your neighborhood and knock on some doors. Check Craigslist also.

Major accident such as a roll over those and similar that go into your DAC, essentially gaurnatees you a period of time from 3 to 8 years if not more before you can get hired again.

Accidents, especially preventable is a very very very serious career killer. Ive endured months and years not hired by anyone when the DAC shows a preventable in my time. Especially preventable.

I have never ever had a rollover in my many years, however... Ive had wheels come up and thankfully they came back down. And each time I got grilled by safety to see if anything I did is preventable. Once I was forced to slap the brakes while blind side backing a flatbed with shingles on, a woman breached by two of three lane closed triangles and got under the trailer in a emergency stop. My load was still strapped and my cab was lifted (A mach CH Daycab a new one) completely back onto it's bogie axle damaging the airbags under there and then slammed back down on it's front axle creating problems for me) But that very stupid female did not get killed as she ought to have been had the whole thing continued to roll over on her. That's Jersey for you. People don't give a *&^# until something serious like 48,000 pounds of F U wants to mash you. But it's still preventable.

Usually a rollover is fatal or worse depending on how your body is treated inside one. Some of the people posting here are harsh and blunt angering you. But the truth is this. PREVENTABLE. Therefore resign yourself to a time off the road unless you find someone like a O/O or lesser trucking like a dump truck and not for a major company. Certainly not for someone who really cares about safety etc You literally suffer a loss by being prevented yourself from walking on water with the rest of the Drivers day to day with that rollover.

Im not here to give you a hard time, There is enough of that already. Man up and understand you are going to lose valuable months if not years sitting home because of the rollover. Lesson number two. That DAC is god. Anything on it is worse than death. I pulled my DAC a few weeks ago and there is nothing on it. That does not mean however that a company can go back more than 10 years or sit and read these forums and understand that my trucking experience is a little bit rough rougher than most Suits will care to have it.

Control of a CMV to prevent accidents such as a rollover is one of the most basic tasks of a professional. It is little wonder why drivers are prevented from continuing on the road after something that is preventable and most basic like a rollover. Jackknifes is the next preventable down. I remember in the days of the old Cabovers with the steering pumps on the catwalk, if you missed the 5th wheel and smashed the pump and back of the cab, you were essentially deemed too unprofessional and too stupid to be trusted with a 200,000 dollar peice of equiptment with it's quirky considerations. I prevented that by refusing to drive cabovers.

I still refuse to drive them to this day because 9 times of 10 something is going to happen that is preventable to me personally. SO No Cabovers for me. That is a example on how I manage risk to myself and to the company.

That's it. I beat you up enough and I know it's hard. But learn your lesson in this time and go forth and sin no more when you do get back on the big road.

That is the other unspoken part of our Trucking Culture which is being lost, in the day older trainers, teachers and Daddies would teach the young one certain things (As they taught me I teach you...) that is simply not acceptable to dispatch or safety and the punishment for something preventable is usually being cast out of the Industry by not being hired. That is the way it is then and appears to be even more important today decades later because the dollar is not that much and accidents have a greater cost.

If you are any good, the next time you go back out there in a 18 wheeler, you will be a advocate to others to prevent preventable accidents. Good luck.

Have you seen how much they pay? One would probably be miles ahead staying on unemployment

I understand that, but my point is to keep the cdl active, thus driving experience adding up. At least they won't have long gaps in cdl driving and will get good coast to coast, all terrain, all weather driving experience. This is a good foundation for the next job in a year or so.

Yes, some household goods movers might hire him as a driver helper. Google for household goods movers in your area.

I completely destroyed my driving record a while back, and a moving company was the only local place I could find that would hire me. They put me in charge of a moving crew, since I had a class A, but I completely hated it.

Western Express? I'm pretty sure you can find a job, but it won't be a great job. I think it's a dumb policy. Since you've rolled one, I would think you would be much less likely to roll another, than a new driver. This industry is ran by psychopaths.
