In regards to my earlier post, about how quickly things can go sideways if a car goes into a guardrail, here's a typical dash cam compilation.
Please let me know if this was dangerous or not...

It’s really sad to me that this comment is coming from an IT guy and not a “professional” trucker. But not surprising.Lepton1 and Blackshack46 Thank this.

*Ahem* As a western Canadiadian, lol.
Driving in snow is basically a way of life for me, especially this year where since November I must have hit every snow storm somehow.... lè grr...
I don't see anything wrong with what he is doing. My only real issue might have been him being so close to the line, and getting as close as he did to the back of the car while it was trying to merge. I would have stayed back a little more for a few reasons.
1. 'You' idiots (Americans in general, most truck drivers included) cannot drive in snow to save your lives. You pile up in groups, you ride your brakes, you jam your darn brakes. 'You' guys in snow are certifiable mush heads.
2. Mush heads like jamming on their brakes, and you people seem to forget, in blowing snow or snow like that, the heat from tires warms and melts the snow, the wind freezes it. This repeating process creates black ice. Road looks good, feels good, but you're all too far up each other's hindquarters to see the glare off the road and know your on black ice. How many wrecks are caused by that each year?
3. No one knows how to properly change lanes anymore. It's brutal, I mean beyond pathetic really...
Aaanyway take no offense to my singling out of Americans, we have our mush heads in Canadia too, but with almost 10+ times our population your Mush heads outnumber the competent people.
Most of our mush heads are people who live in cities and only drive on the weekends so they have no real experience, since most of our downtown cores (out west anyway) have insufficient parking so most office people either live downtown, or use transit. (Like Manhattan) then they get in their cars on the weekend and terrorize us on the highways and by-ways.Nostalgic, Blackshack46, stwik and 3 others Thank this. -
I like to think most people who have some time in the snow will understand that being stupid with brakes is the last thing they want. The first few snow storms are the most dangerous in any winter season, sort out those who don't know how to drive and those who needed a little rust broken off. And the rest like us we stay home.
Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I take offense to that, the Americans part that is.
The rest I agree with. LOL
And by the way, isn't Canada in north America?Blackshack46 and HighwaySuperTramp Thank this. -
Yeah, the continent is known as North America, but it's always been Canadian's and American's. Not Canadian's and United Statetion's** lol
Now that would be madness Hahaha!QuietStorm, Lepton1 and adayrider Thank this. -
Judging by the fact that it’s a post 1999 truck and more likely on ELD, it was completely safe. Who are the trucks wrecking in the snow? All people on paper logs, that’s a fact.

I believe at some point in history every one had claim to a part of Canada your way, Prince Rupert I think not sure. But anyway it had to do with a national boundry and so on. It's fortunate we got all that hammered out.
Now if you Quebeckers can just settle down up there everything would go well. //tease.
