Thats my whole dilemma. I really love trucking. I love the road, I love the serenity of being alone sometimes. But after about 5 - 10 days away from home, I start to get home sick. I miss my wife, I miss my dogs, I miss my friends, I miss all the stuff I have at home, sadly everything I have is expensive. All my hobbies are obscenely expensive,.. so with out hitting the road and being homesick all the time,. I wouldnt have anything. Its a catch 22.

I apologize for the thread hi-jack in advance. When it comes to hotrods,.. I cant help myself. Only a true gear head will appreciate the pics I post below.

Same hobby here. My wife and I are both into it. We also do SCCA weekends at Sebring and have been up to Atlanta few times.

Car is a 93 Mustang GT. I've torn this car down and redone it 4 times. Each time upping the anti,.. started out with a 306 making 363 rwhp NA. Was go0d for low 12's at 110 - 112mph NA. Then moved to a 5.3 Chevy spraying a 150hp plate combined with a 225 hp progressive fogger,.. that got me into the 9's. Current project is an LS7 long block out of a 2008 Vette,.. CNC'd heads, Garrett 90mm single that should be good for 1500 - 1600 hp when done. First fuel injected combo I've ever done like this.

    -----------------------------------------------------

Next up is my wife's daily driver.

    99 Mustang GT.
Fully forged 4.6 2v. TKO 600 tranny, Detroit Trutrac rear, 3.73 gear.
Vortech supercharger pushing 12 PSI. Made 557 RWHP last time on the dyno.
Plan to up boost to 15 - 16 PSI with 600 - 650 hp as a goal this summer.

This is how I 'relax' when at home. I beat the snot out of my cars at the track. Then work so I can buy parts ti replace what I broke when home,.. or to rebuild and make faster after I lost a race to someone.
Its a never ending money pit. I've got upwards of $20k into my wife's car,.. I've spent upwards of $100k in my 93 Fox over the years. Never get any of that money back,.. its like pooping $100 bills every time I come home. I leave the drive way sideways and my wife comments,.. well there goes $25 in rubber and $10 in gas. LOL

You ever run your car out by Riverview? Or the old spot up by New Tampa when Bruce B Downs used to dead end,.. before the 56 bridge was built? Or,.. um,.. Gandy before the Fast and Furious crowd ruined it?

We used to run the 49th street bridge after Gandy became too hot.

I know I have seen that car. What about Hooters on 301 in Tampa? You ever make it up there?

My first 'New' car was a 1989 Mustang GT. I've been through 30 - 40 Mustangs since then. Buy, sell, trade all the time.

Do you recognize any of these cars?

I've been running my blue 93 since 2004. So it may be possible our cars have met somewhere out there.

This is the current condition of my 93,.. stripped and not going anywhere anytime soon.

I got a 05 gto m6 bone stock at the moment. And a 71 Monte Carlo. I have a cam already for the gto I'm just procrastinating on pulling the motor to do the swap. My 71 is my baby. I got a 6.0 LSX for it with 408 rotating assembly and a F1R procharger. If I get her in the 10s I'll be happy. Everything is on hold since I'm making the leap in the owner operator world. Finally found a truck after 4 months of looking, calling, visiting, and test driving. The Monte Carlo is still in the body shop going l the way down to the metal so that buys me some time with the truck. Plus it's my buddy shop so he's not in a rush

Drop a powerstroke in it haha!! I know it sounds crazy but I saw a Buick Grand National with a Duramax in it in a magazine a few years ago Thought it was cool. I guess anymore everyone knows tuned diesels kick ### but there was a time when guys in mustangs and vettes would be shocked at how badly their ##### could get kicked by a 7,000 lb 4x4 diesel pickup lol.
