Thermoelectric coolers use 12v that you obtain from one of the 12v outlets in the truck. No inverter required.
I operate a 13" TV and a PS2 using a 350w inverter that plugs into another of the 12v outlets. A 1000w inverter will need to be wired direct to battery, which is a chore, but should handle most anything you throw at it.

How well has that 110 fridge held up for you???? I am considering going that route. -
Man you got that right. In the last 3 or 4 years I've gone thru about 4 or 5 of them.
Eventually they stop cooling and you have to throw your food away. I've used all different brands with about the same experience with all of them.
Currently I've got a 1500 watt continuous with 3000 watt surge inverter. I am considering trying a small 110v fridge from Wally World. -

Ah but you see I have a top bunk. And with no mattress in it there is a very nice shelf with about a 3 or 4 inch lip on it to keep things from falling out. A little foam for cushion on the bottom and a strap to keep it from falling on my head next time I can't keep the truck on the road and I'm good to go.

thanks 2xr i tried to understand electricity in the past but we dont get along. lol how big of an inverter can you buy that plugs into a 12v outlet? i,ve read some guys putting 2500w,s in their trucks that must be for 110v refridgerators and maybe heaters for the sleeper. -
300w or 450w I think is about as big as you'll find with a 12v plug on them. Bigger than that and you have to be hard wired to the battery. I've got a 1500w and that should be big enough for me. I had a 1000w and wished a lot of the time it was bigger.
Just becareful with an inverter. The bigger of an inverter you go with the faster your batteries WILL drain and you won't be starting your truck in the morning. The one I just installed is a Cobra brand. They have a remote switch you can mount in the sleeper. Very nice for shutting them off before going to bed so you don't have to go outside to do so (depending on where yours is mounted). In my last truck and this one I mounted the inverter in the side box. -
my coleman cooler died last month. guess i'll try a different one this time it lasted about 8 months

Lol, the fridge will be way too far away to even try that.
