When doing a plug-patch from the inside. Drill out hole, so it is strait to center of tire. Nice and clean drilled hole. Clean up inside tire where hole is with a grinder. If you don’t have a grinder, sand paper. Give the patch part a nice seat. Apply the compound and pull plug-patch from inside of tire through drilled home. Pull tight with pliers the plug. Go over the inside patch with a patch roller or improvised tool to press against the patch and push it against the compound and tire. - Making sure it all mates together. Cut excess of plug with a pair of dikes. Mount tire and check for leaks followed by a trip to Waffle House.

Plugs are fine but carry a drill.

You'll have a heart attack trying to plug them big tires. The job isn't easy compared to car tires. They're a royal B.

The plugs where always in stalled by a mech. At about 90.00 a piece. They plug the whole and patch the inside. Over a year now and no issuses.

Plugs work fine as a limp somewhere safe thing for most tires regardless of position and fine for any normal tire. Bout the only time i wouldnt trust them are a steer tire if i need to do more then move off the shoulder or get to a place VERY nearby under 10mph i can get it replaced. That or a rear wheel if im dumping to not risk a blowout. Everywhere else plug em and run em

I plugged a drive tire on my old truck and it worked good enough to get to a place to patch it. That was in the tread and it was a 1/2" bolt so I was pretty impressed it even stayed for the 30 mile trip. I doubt you would have much luck outside the tread for longer than a few days but never tried either. I went through a same thing last trailer I had rented. I have since had decent luck but feel I will have some bad luck now I said it. Ha Ha

I got this plug kit after the mechanic where I park plugged a brand new trailer tire for me with his. He said it was only temporary to get me to a tire shop. I would occasionally spray it with soapy water and no leaks. I ran it several hundred thousand miles before I got new tires with it still in. I have never met a tire guy that likes plugs from the outside of the tire. I have found that if you drill a pilot hole with a 3/16 drill but it makes it much easier getting the auger and then plug in. D107F3A1-0D27-4DF5-B72F-4C7D791D792B.png
