He's at the home office right now, *pleading* his case.Hopefully they have something decent in the shadows for him!
Bradleh...my husband makes good money when his truck is up and running. LOL!! Luckily he's mechanically minded, or he would be sitting on the side of the road alot more I think. It's hard work, very physical climbing in and out of those 50 - 100,000 dollar cars.
The worst part is unloading at some of these dealerships....in the middle of a 5 lane mini-highway with cars flying by and people honking at him to move. (LMAO...go figure! People can be such goofs sometimes!)
I would suggest he interview at all places and see which *feels* best to him. Good luck!!!

bullseye1975, I read your message about being hired by PMTG. Congrats! I want to apply but haven't been in a tractor trailer for over a year and only have 1 year OTR experience in the past 3 years with 2 different carriers. I have a clean driving and safety record but my DAC shows an orientation with J.B. Hunt that I attended but was sent home because a recruiter listed one of my previous jobs as tractor trailer when I told him it was a straight truck. Do you know if PMTG checked your DAC (HireRight) report? I'm familiar with the general motor carrier application process but is there anything you can tell me about the PMTG application or give any advice to help get my foot in the door? Thank you.

My hubby drives for PMTG, has for the last seven years now. I given them a 9 on a scale of 1-10. ALL companies have good and bad, its been our experience that PMTG is WAY more good than bad. Yes last year things slowed down from Dec-March but since then he has not had any more "extended home times" and things seem to be back to normal, which is GREAT.
bullseye1975 Thanks this. -
m3lvtrc, I erge your hubby to reapply because i have NO OTR experience but I have been driving tractors for USfoodservice for the past 6 years driving locally. So I think they are willing to hire people again. LUVMYHUBBY, if you don't mind me asking how are the benifits, do you hafta pay for them? and do they pay what they claim?? they say around $72,000 per year.??

After checking out pmtg website. I find the company very interesting to work for. I have a question. What are the steps you have to go through when taking a physical at the oriention? In other words do they make you take a sleep study test? Reason I ask is because I heard some companies are doing that now, and some new drivers have'nt met the qualifications on getting hired.
