Any recommendations on how to find a lawyer for this situation? I looked under trucker defense lawyers. None in this area.
Point on record after supposed felony hit & run in commercial vehicle.

The cops can do whatever they want. I've watched cops kill people unjustly, get paid leave, then start work when the bull feces IA investigation is over.
1 point, and no felony, with a collision report doesn't seem terrible but could cost you some of those really good paying jobs you hear whispers about. I'd lawyer up and fight it.mosstrap and sexystuff911 Thank this. -
Im a super trucker and haven't yet had to call Saul, but here's a quick google search:

Really, she doesn't want to press charges and "you're at fault". My first question is why!. Perhaps she know it not your fault she has those marks in her bumper. She had a green light and got rearended. Maybe her fault. She was suppose to yield to oncoming traffic. Get a lawyer. Good luck

Having someone pull out in front of you and responsible for forward movement all seems to be a grey area. Plus imagine the princess in the BMW. A dump truck barely bumps her. She pulls over sees a scratch. Dump truck pulls over, driver walks around, takes off. It seems like a confusing situation all around. I'd feel extremely fortunate to not be dealing with a felony.
With the felony off the table, any lawyer worth their salt can clean all this up easy. Just a matter of footing the bill. Which in my eyes seems worth it. $500-$1000 lawyer fee now, and eligible for $100k dream job later on down the road. All worth it in the end.NavigatorWife and sexystuff911 Thank this. -
what i dont understand is...if you know you didnt hit her, why did you agree to pay for it?
-
Sounds like she did hit her. Just didn't realize it. If the lady she hit would have just flagged her over when she was outside her truck trying to investigate the sound she heard all this would have flowed under the bridge. But now we have an interesting thread of some fit hitting the shan.
What I'm taking from all this is, if you hear a loud crunch or bang. Get out of your truck and look around a little better. Talk to the other people sitting there. If all else fails, call the cops and say, "I heard a crash, I think someone hit me and took off. Here's my name and number if someone calls in later. I'm leaving the scene." Covers your 6.NavigatorWife and sexystuff911 Thank this. -
Hire a lawyer, and bring the driver of the other car with. Technically, you did hit her. And she caused you to hit her. And then, buy a dash cam. Best of luck to you.
