It's not OK to link butt cracks and smoking

That depends on whose butt crack you're looking at.

im a very casual smoker but when it comes down to, ill believe what doctors have told me over something some guy on the internet said is true anyday

theres similar lists for why marijuana isnt bad for you...im sure half the "facts" they list were wrote by some 17 year old kid who just finished watching Half Baked

The Surgeon General of the US determined smoking was unhealthy in the 1960s. If you started smoking after that time, you chose to believe tobacco industry propaganda over the advice of the country's chief medical officer.

I have never figured out how inhaling a foreign substance into your lungs on purpose could not have some detrimental affect upon said lungs.

True, there are folks who smoke and have done so for 50 years or more without symptoms (I used to work for a man like that...he's still around and 80 years old). But there are others who hack and hack all day and it makes you wonder "why?".

All that stuff said....I'd like to enjoy an occasional bowl of fine pipe tobacco at home, but wifey won't allow it. And wifey always wins.

    Duh.

Im down to seven smokes a day now, My wife is down to six. A year ago we each smoked 12 cigs a day. We hope to be able to eventually quit, but each time we try, we feel like zombies, and can only think of a smoke. How can you get past that "zombie" stage?

I quit 5 months ago and haven't looked back. I was a pack a day smoker, sometimes 1.5 packs. I chewed gum(regular gum none of that nicotine gum) like a fiend for a couple months afterwards.

Just remember the urge to smoke only lasts 5-10 minutes then it goes away. After awhile your body will adjust. It takes a couple weeks tho. For me it did, everyone's different.

I smoked since I was 13, and the fact that I'm saving $6 a day from not buying cigs helps.

I have been smoke free for 8 years and still have the craving occasionally. I guess it never totally goes away. :biggrin_25523:
