"Lorianne" works for a man that owns 10 trucks, "Lorianne" finds freight for the trucks by scanning internet load boards and making a deal with the broker.
All drivers are paid by the man that owns the trucks, by the mile.
She is paid a 10% bonus for every dollar she can talk the broker up from his original rate offer, in addition to her minimum wage salary.
She routinely will book freight that make her a bonus but pays less to the truck, rather than book freight that pays the truck better and might mean a smaller or no bonus for her.
And she will book loads that put our trucks in areas of poor freight, where you either deadhead a long distance, or get a very low rate to load out.
She works with two other people that also have the same deal but as far as I can tell the other 2 book trucks by the best rate to truck.
The 3 loader planners are not assigned trucks to book, its "planner book truck as they become available".
So the question came up Is she doing anything wrong by booking freight as she does? Is it unethical or just looking out for number 1?
