I prefer the older RMs... 740 and older over ANY Garmin. But I prefer ANY Garmin over newer RMs.

@Catmando my experience with Garmin is they DO NOT like goat trails and small towns. I currently run a DEZL 580 (no longer made) and it screams at me every time I drive through a small local town near where I live... It thinks the WHOLE #### TOWN is weight restricted at 12.5 tons gross, but it is not restricted... Its the business loop and truck route.

It will also sometimes want me to get off the big road, drive through downtown, then get back on the big road. Or skip my exit, take next exit to get back on going opposite direction, then take correct exit.

But if you already know where you are going it aint bad. I just put in my destination and go which ever route I want, that way it is better at warning of upcoming restrictions.

I asked you for 2 reasons @Cattleman84 .1 because of where you live and what works best because the Garmin I tossed did not like your area.. and it's a area I never seem to go to the same place twice
2.. you have driven in.my boots yourself and you know what it's really needed for Thanks for the info I appreciate it

Lol... I completely understand. Nothing makes you pucker than following some unknown road on verbal directions and come face to face with a rickety old bridge, or a series of sharp switch backs that are obviously not meant for a rig... Only to find out you missed the turn 2 miles back next to the "Big Dead Tree"

Then when you do get to the correct corner you have to use the ditch on the sides of BOTH intersecting roads to make the corner... Maybe. Gotta love it!
