I cant afford $500-$600 freezers every year. I feel like any brand I buy is a gamble. I just want something that will last and allow me to get my moneys worth for 5 years or more.

I had a whynter fm-45g, I spent $550 on the darn thing and after one year it died on me.
I am now looking for another brand but every brand I look at I read truckers reviews and I find guys complaining because their freezer stopped working after a few months.

Sure I see reviews from guys who only had theirs for a week raving about their new toy, those reviews mean nothing to me..... I am interested in guys who had freezers that have stood the test of TIME.

When I read the reviews (search reviews for "truck") on amazon for I see complaints on all of them.

    ICECO VL45
    Domende 54qt
    Alpicool APLT60

I need recommendations ... do I have to spend $1500 (engel and dometic) for a freezer that will last thru years of vibration abuse in my semi?

    Why 12V?
If you are limited to 12V and no inverter, why not a cooler instead of a freezer?

Personally, I can get to a Walmart every couple days to keep fresh/unfrozen food in stock.

I also had a whynter that only lasted a year, bought a Dometic that was in the truck for 5 years and worked flawlessly.

Only reason I don't use it still is new truck has one built in.

I also had inverters running dorm style fridges and the Dometic was better all around, uses less power and lasts longer

I just buy a 70 dollar Walmart fridge and plug into my inverter it uses LESS battery power overnight and most last me 3 to 5 years

Had a $200 Amazon one, F40C4TMP, lasted 2 yrs; it’s one of those Chinese rebrands just like alpicool.

My alpicool is the only thing I've ever bought on Amazon. I use it at fridge temp, not freezer, and it hardly gets unplugged. I'm very happy with it
