I have a portable satellite radio Pioneer Inno2 (GEX-INNO2) and just purchased a Pioneer Inno car kit that includes a magnetic satellite antenna. I'm a new driver and would like to use the Inno on the road when I'm assigned my own tractor truck. I was wondering if any drivers on this forum have a Pioneer Inno unit and have come up with a good antenna arrangement for their truck. For example, have you found a better antenna (mirror mounted, etc.) that plugs into the Pioneer Inno car kit base? Or have you routed the Pioneer car kit's magnetic antenna's cable in a semi-permanent way that keeps it out of sight, etc? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm from the Hudson Valley region of NY, mostly running through the Catskill Mountains and I have had the same radio in my propane bobtails. Never had a problem with radio reception in either truck (Int'l and Pete). Only on the rare occassion of beinfg behind a mountain with no clear line of sight to the south. With the car kit, I hard wired it to a key hot accessorry,(i.e. radio, cig. lighter outlet, ac/heater) in the in-cab fuse panel so as to not accidentally leave the radio on all night with the chance to kill a battery and set the radio so that it would turn on and off with the elec. acc. to save the battery in the Inno. As far as antenna placement went I attached the antenna to the front and center of the cab of my international. However, on the Pete, since it was aluminum, I attached the antenna to my sun visor which was stainless. My only recommendation to you would be to go and preset a couple of FM stations that get absolutley no service on them so that if by chance a station close by encroaches on one station setting you only have to change the radio station once and then set your Inno to the new FM station. Found this to be helpful for me so as not having to surf the FM's all the time as I was going down the road.

    Torque2Haul Thanks this.
