I have a 2012 386 Pete As long as I keep passenger side full it doesn't shut down Once it drops to less than 3/4 tank when you hit the brakes and the try to take off it dies. Shut key off and then back on it refires and takes off just fine. Not throwing any codes.

So , cap the tank. If it goes away you know for sure. Otherwise install a clear line or sight glass to confirm. When they crack it usually right at the top weld plate. I dont think you could get the tank full enough, but maybe your right. Cracked tubes are surely intermittent in the beginning.
