Thinking about becoming a hotshot driver. Currently have a 3/4 Ton Dodge and wanting to lease on with a company. I manage a local brick company now just looking for a better opportunity. I live just just north of Baton Rouge. Just looking for the good and bad if I decide to go this route. Thanks in Advance

Not sure a 3/4ton Dodge is what they are looking for, A cube van or Sprinter will probably be better suited. Have you researched your local area for expedited freight? When I looked into this most of the freight was in and around OH, IL, MI, IN, NY, PA, NJ etc with not much in the south.

Was definitely thinking about calling ACME. The lady at the local terminal wasn't very helpful but will just go there and see if there is someone else to talk to. The oilfield is always a major player in this area. I just see so many guys for hotshot and so many against it. Just wanting to weed through the BS and seriously try to give it a shot

Had a few question..Can your personal truck be used to both haul and be used in your everyday activities? Or would I have to buy another truck strictly for hauling freight? Also can passengers ride with you while making deliveries? Thanks again for the advice

I'm in New Orleans and have been looking into getting into Hot Shot down here but I have zero connections and I need a bigger truck (only have a Hemi Ram). Before I get a bigger truck i'd like to have something lined up but I doubt that's how it works lol.
