Something else I don't understand is why we are "Motor Carriers." I rarely carry motors. And my truck has an engine, although their is a starter motor.

I don’t know how true it is, but I’ve heard a story from several people about Best Way Trucking. When people want something shipped and don’t care who hauls it, they will often enter “best way” into the shipping method box. Supposedly, the guy who started Best Way Trucking named his company this to capitalize on this.

I’ve also got a friend that runs a bail bond outfit. He goes by AAA Bonding. The “AAA” doesn’t mean anything, but it puts him at the top of the alphabetical list at the jail, and also the first in the Yellow Pages (back when people used Yellow Pages).

So you can use a marketing strategy in a name, if you so choose.
