I can somewhat see the negligence argument from JB Hunt's side. The 4 wheeler running out of gas on the interstate is a terrible idea. That being said, JB, get ready to pay those folks. Truck drivers are held to a higher standard. That wasn't a good time to be trying to check the dating scene. Also, for all those who get pissed off about driver facing cameras, this is why the industry is eventually going to go that direction 100 percent. We drivers don't seem to act right. This instance added fuel to their fire. JB probably should have fired him prior. The driver shortage saved him. Lol
Most people turn their head where they're looking and that's what the camera tracks is head movement. It can't see your eyes through the sunglasses.
Our cameras can definatly see head movement and or eyes.. mine used to come on when I would reach to touch the logbook or zooming in on the GPS... it can also read speed limit signs and stop signs... my safety guy turned the sensitivity off of mine because I have hardly any violations.... I hear other guys in the company get written up all the time getting caught on camera
I made sure mine was constantly going off by turning my head but watching the road. They pretty much see a video from me and delete it.
