POSSIBLE RECESSION and starting as and Owner Operator?

25k was what I had after dealing with my arm injury and being out for 2 months. I had to finish off my time for my year comitment for my CDL so I took a short lease truck (4 months ie ends on the 4th).. I now have $40k saved.

If it wasn't you that said it then sorry, but there is a whole little sub culture of people on this forum that seem to make it their life mission to be anal and negitive in every topic about leases. I thought you were one of them if not then my bad. I got tired of hearing the #### so I give it back.

 

Tell that to GM workers that no jobs have been lost. And those are good paying jobs.

I'll caution you, friend. The last time I saw someone open his mouth at a GM worker, he literally got knocked out while his wife stood there and watched.

Well between this and the fed ex thread, I'm pretty certain I'm both emotionally and psychologically scared for life.

 

Right?! Like he really needs help in sabotaging his chances. They should have been sabotaged in the beginning. In any event, many operators are in panic mode because rates went south. So they automatically think recession. Nobody really knows why rates went down but loads will still be moved somehow. Besides, there has been fairly steady job growth in recent years, so one could argue that a recession isn't coming.

Manufacturing jobs are on the way out the door, NAFTA or not. You have automation taking over. Have you had your truck loaded by a robot yet? Many Niagara Bottling locations are already doing that. Miller Coors in Albany, GA is as well if I'm not mistaken
