Possible to convert from horizontal exhaust to vertical exhaust pipes?

I've seen it discussed in the reverse (vertical to horizontal) but never heard of doing it this way. Would this be possible? What is a ballpark figure on parts and labor on having it done?

The truck in question would likely be an International Prostar. 2012-2015

Oh sure. Just need a elbow or two and a reroute of the pipe to vertical combined with a mounting situation to clear the pipe, muffler, airshield and so on. Just be sure the vertical pipe is 13.5" or so that is to get above the sleeper.

I cannot stand weedburners, I don't understand why the industry chooses to revert or regress to something so stupid. (Not you personally, there are problems with weed burners)

It may cost quite a bit.
Due to the need to start with a different truck.

Weight savings for one- 200 plus lbs of pipe and heat shields and hangers that simply is not needed.

No more smoke- The main reason diesel trucks had stacks was to get the toxic fumes and choking smoke up in the air away from the air we breathe. What do we have now, Carbon Dioxide and water , not much to worry about here.

Only draw back is alot of heat from regeneration. As @1Heavy pointed out. Dry environments have to be worried about fires. Traveling down a asphalt or cement highway not such a big deal.

To the OP. Call your local dealer. Ask them to locate a VIN with the same model that is equipped with a stack and order the parts from that one. Probably your best bet for making it look pretty. Not gonna be cheap tho.

I disagree about fumes .. if a diesel is doing one of its many derates check engine deals as it gets older the fumes have set off my carbon monoxide detector .. ps no truck is completely airtight and fumes can enter especially on cascadias with the rubber vents on the back of the cab

A friend of mine just did this on his Volvo, cost around $1500... I would call around to some big truck junk yards, ProStars are everywhere, they should have everything you need to do the job.

I have a weed burner, but I took care of the emissions a few years ago. I actually like it, I have an APU so no idling, but I can see what the motor is doing going down the road. You cannot do that with stacks. Just my .02

This is why we need a closed loop exhaust. Keep all of it in the engine? But would require more fresh air I think. And like 100pounds of boost and a wastegate?
