You think you would bend a flange? I was always told use steel corners with chain so the flange doesn't get marked up by chains wearing against the steel.

 

Sure, a ratchet binder and a piece of 3/8 chain can do a lot of damage if you aren't careful. Even with the edge protector you could still bend the flanges if you go too tight.

 

First thing I noticed was the hooks,

Seen enough before I got that far......
Even if the straps survive, may still make a schishkabob outa himself......

 

If it was me I would use chain front back and middle, straps with edge protection in between
