Gotcha. I need to grab more of my chains this weekend. That looks slick.
The keen driver had an RGN and I was impressed with how many options he had to hook to. Inside the trailer rails and outside.passingthru69, Razororange, johndeere4020 and 2 others Thank this. -
That one is a little heavier so I needed the full wll of the chains. That was before I got 1/2" chain on the truck.Oxbow, Razororange, DDlighttruck and 1 other person Thank this.

But, although the DOT doesn't require attachment points to be rated, on a step I would feel silly attaching a 1/2" chain to an aluminum stake pocket and guessing it's rated as high as a 1/2" chain.
That, to me, is the stumbling block of securing equipment on an aluminum flat/step, once you get heavier. Not saying it wouldn't be legal...but common sense says it doesn't work.PeteyFixAll, Oxbow, Razororange and 3 others Thank this. -
Yeah, I pulled a run most of the time.Oxbow, Razororange, MJ1657 and 2 others Thank this.

I agree the ratings of the attachment points not being rated high enough. That's always been my problem with hauling on a step deck the stake pockets and side rails are no where as strong as a low boy. We used to haul 2250 houses on them and I chained way more than on my low boy.passingthru69, Dye Guardian, Oxbow and 4 others Thank this.
