One trip, two choke, four over the top, and two X chains. Plus upright dunnage. 25 feet 34K altogether

 

what are those pieces of?

 

Looks like they weld them up in a box as a beam. I believe the pieces on the skid get welded on the side as a gusset or reinforcement point where a pin might go through.

 

Edge protection? What's that?

 

It looks like he's got it up against a bulkhead and has straps in the back. Then again, at least he has straps. I saw a truck on the way home today, 53' trailer, 50+ feet of load, two straps (it was some sort of steel fabricated thing, probably weighed no more than 10,000 lbs, but still).

I was like:

 

A lot of work to move it literally 10 miles down the road.
