The 14% grades I this route were relatively short at only a few hundred feet, but they were on tight corners and when you meet up with a swift driver who is hugging the center line, needless to say it got a little tense

I picked up in a rock quarry last week. Going in empty it was all I could do to climb it with the interlock engaged. Mostly a traction issue. On the way out at 83,680 lbs going down locked in, in 4th gear the jake held the truck no problem. The steep part of the road is probly 1/2 mile long. One of our other guys wouldn't even try going up last week. He rode up in a pickup truck and said no way.
I would be more afraid of going back UP it loaded than coming back down loaded. -
