Is that the two lane question? Have you checked the state vehicle code definitions section? I'd start there before listening to what any desk jockey says, no matter how knowledgeable they seem to be

That’s crazy. I have never heard of a interstate highway called a 2 lane. But it’s not my load and not my money. Safe travels.

My permit office agrees with you as well, they are researching the issue and say they will get back to me

Despite the oft heard advice to call the scale/Poe and ask, I tend to think it's always better to look at the law yourself.

I looked at it and am confused by it, as @kylefitzy said, ive never heard 4 lane interstates be referred to as 2 lane

And now here I am at customs in port Huron and I'm in secondary inspection because once again the broker failed to attach an entry number to me ace manifest.

And just one more curveball...I have less than an hour of daylight left

Always get your entry number before you get there. They don't require it but if you write it on your ace they know it's cleared.
There's a MI welcome center about 5 miles from the border.

Doesn't matter, I've been turned around. So here I sit in Sarnia at a truck stop 4 miles from the border. Seems there was a mix up with the customer, they had 2 loads coming from Canada, both from the same shipper, both left today, but both used different import brokers, I don't know how, but they said my paperwork was in order to cross. Yeah I should've checked it myself, but it is what it is. Lesson learned.
